Is it possible to simply swap out the 5 speed manual tranny out of a 2000 A4 with a S4 six speed?

Id like to know that as well! Hell Id like to know if you can do a straight swap engine and all!

as me about adomestic and I'll give you a good answer....when it comes to german I'm still a noob :(

It would be great if it was simple but its not. I loved my saab 9000 doing 75 mph around 2500 rpms. This has been covered here and the costs are high.

I don't know if you can use the S4 6speed trans, but i know you can use the B6 A4 6speed transon the older 1.8T engines.

direct swap. will need to use the tranny mount off the passenger side of your 5 spd and the clutch/flywheel from your current engine. as far as the 2.7t 6 spd swap its possible. must change the axles, rear diff, k member as well as engine and trans of course. also need to rewire abs and the cluster/ecu

is there any advantage to doing a 6 spd swap? and no its not possible to simply switch it out but its possible. if your gunna do an engine and tranny swap you would probably save a hugh headache and some money if u just buy an s4.

Again, wouldn't it be cheaper to sell your A4 and buy a B5 S4 at that point?

Don't you mean, center diff?
