I use mobil 1 high mileage, I feel its the best of both worlds being synthetic + high mileage, as I have ~110k (12v v6)

If you are not consuming a lot of oil between changes I would stick with syn. My v6 consumes a litre/3000 km which is more than I would like but is ok(132,000 km,83,000 mi.) with a small oil leak. I use 5/30 winter and 10/40 summer. Audi's intervals are 5000 mi.-1.8t and 8000 mi.-v6. The shorter your trips the sooner you should change it, the condensation caused by not fully warming your car up, especially in the winter makes acids in your oil which corrodes the parts in the engine and adds to the sludge. Oil is still cheaper than an engine. B.

If you're that conflicted Mobil1 offers a 10W40 full synthetic and the big oil filter is the same as a Ford 302 filter. I would stay with full synthetic no matter which way you go and change it at 5000 miles at most. They say 7500 but love your car and the oil change is the single-most important preventative maintenance you can do.

I use Mobil 1 10W-40. As cbg & jiggleo said, it's
high mileage and synthetic.
