Synthetic Oil..Which one to use ?
Hi
Audi A4 2.8 1996
I want to change my oil, I heard there are synthetic oils type 3 and type 4 with type 4 being better. According to the article I read Mobile 1 synthetic oil is best. Is this true ? If I cant find Mobil 1 what is the best next thing ? Are there things I need to pay attention to on the oil sticker.

there are a lot of oils you can use.
I use Aimsoil but you can also use royal purple, Motul, Mobile 1, etc.
I'd say get 5W-40 if you can find it or 0-40 would probably be fine too. also 5w-30 would probably work too.

I used Royal Purple this oil change. Although i did gain a psi of boost and a few psi of vaccum, the engine is noisier when i first start it. Unsure of why its doing it, maybe the oils a little too thick. Probably going to try a little mobil 1 next oil change.

But really any fully synthetic oil will work, as said before. If you get the cheaper stuff just do your oil change earlier than normal. As long as you get the correct weight and do your changes regularly you will have no problems. MAKE sure its fully synthetic though. Also like i said before i think mobil 1 started blending.
