Default System too Lean?

Guys,

I just got this code from my car.......

1 Fault Found:
17544 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too Lean
P1136 - 35-00 - -

I'm guessing that this means the fuel/oil mixture has too little oil. Does anyone know if that's correct, and is there a simple fix, or is this one for the dealer or a mechanic?

thanks!

I think you mean fuel/air mixture. That could be a few didfferent things. Could be an O2 sensor, or your MAF. Both can cause fuel trim problems. Get it VAGed to be sure. You can read whether or not the O2 sensors are producing voltage and what the reading is from your MAF. Good luck and keep us posted.

Dirty fuel filter, dirty injectors, vacuum leak and weak fuel pump are possible causes.

Default OBD II CODES p1336 & 1338?? HELP!!

My check enging light came on my 99 audi a4 (2.8) and I bought a OBDII truns out the codes I pulled were p1336 & 1338. Which is fuel to lean in bank 1 & 2. My only guess would be the MAF, a line with a hole, but the most likely problem I thought would be a dirty fuel filter. Thanks to AudiFourms I learned how to replace my fuel filter. Saving me $200 dollars from the dealer!!!! I cleared the code. Should I expect it to come back??
