will these lights fit on my 97 they are local and pretty cheap for the pair.
can i just remove that blue piece pictured or is it gonna need work
need a know asap so i can pick em before some one else does says there is a small crack in the second pic but doesnt look to noticible bad deal for 75 bucks for the pair?

sounds like an ok deal. brand new those are a coupla hundred bucks a pair. The actual lenses are a direct fit for your car, but since the pattern of the lights is different from your 97, you will need a pair of bulb holders to make them work. I'd just pick the lights up anyway and try to source the bulb holders later

 

ecs tuning has the tail lights at 186 each where could i get the bulb holders

 

This writeup shows 00/01 tails. The one's you are looking at are from 98/99 I think. It should give you some insight though.

 

all you need to switch to those 98.5-99.0 taillights are the bulb holders and lenses. no wiring/electrical modification. you can remove the blue trim and replace it with the trim on your current taillights. $75 isn't so great of a deal especially with a crack and even more if they don't come with bulb holders. but they will make the car look much better
s4 headlights are ds2 unlike non xenon a4 headlights which are h7

 

alright thanks for the info. i guess ill just wait to get some 00-01 taillights that write up looks super easy. thought it'd be harder to swap them.
