From what I know we have pre-facelift and facelift.....and pre facelift are ugly, I know I have them. haha.

So I want facelift tails but are there any differences among S4 tails and facelift a4 tails? And what is the deal with European facelifts? any stylistic advantage?

I really want to keep an OEM look but I want to upgrade the dated 96 A4 look. Ive got one-piece ecodes and clear corners on a pearl white A4.... then there are the ugly tails; lets get rid of them! What should I do?

Oh and I found the DIY on the wiring differences that's all getting worked out.

Three different styles of tail lights. B5 tails are B5 tails - there is no difference between S4 and facelift (99.5+) A4's. You can find the tails on eBay or in the classifieds(here or AZ) I would suggest waiting till you find a nice used set over the eBay knock-off ones

 

+1 look around on audizine.com's classifides classifides on here.. but yes s4 tails are no different from 99.5+ a4 tails. so your paying more for a taillight you can get for less and is identical.

European facelift taillights are generally the same as US spec except the blinker/signal part of the light will actually glow amber when turned on.
