Hopefully I can make my a4 into more of a project car with the high mileage it has now, Im planning on buying a B5 S4 within a year after auto school. And wow I didn't see how bad those tails were till now haha.

I have most of the trans/engine bolts broke lose and drive axles disconnected. I noticed I have a hole in my tranny though on top of the bell housing- coolant tank side of engine. I can see the flywheel. I've seen a post about this before but couldn't find it. It looks like it's supposed to be there because it's a perfect oval. I can take a pic, but I'm sure someone knows what I'm talking about. WTF is that?

I saw that oval hole your talking about, didn't pay much attention to it. just installed the flywheel/clutch....i didn't really remove must of the stuff the bently manual says to remove, just kinda pulled the tranny out about 6inchs so i could work in that area. btw, found a resurfaced stock flywheel for 100 bucks, pm me for details if interested.

It's ALLLLLLLLLLLIVE! Drives pretty nice. Still needs control arms, front brakes and some other stuff. But it is certainly driveable!!! I forgot what 150hp felt like though 1st through 5th are wonderful. Smooth engagement, no grinding. Except I cant get it into reverse. I think thats a matter of linkage adjustment. YAY!

you most likely are but just to double check, your pushing the shifter down then over to get into reverse right?

Yeah. I'll worry about it later. This car has distracted me from my husband duties lately so I need to take care of that first Wife has been super jealous.

Yeah I'm pretty happy about it. It def needs some TLC though. It will be an ongoing project. This 150 hp business is getting real old though, and I've only driven it a few times today. Still working on getting reverse to engage It's VERY nice to be back driving manual again after 7 years though
