The liberals would tell you to inflate your tires.

first you should calculate gas milage more accurately then guessing how much fuel you used. top off the tank, reset the trip odometer, then when you refill divide the miles by the #of gallons that fit in the tank.

thats what i do, i average 20-24 mpg on a good week

put it this way, i filled my car yesterday. 14.somthing gallons since yesterday i drove 120 miles and i have a little over a half a tank... thats mostly from keeping it in tip and shifting around 4k :P

hah this remided me of a little joke my step dad played on his friend who did this religiously. this guy he worked with was a service tech and drove several hundred miles in a week. and for about 2 weeks my step dad started sneaking gas into his tank. he would put a gallon in, then two gallons, then three... untill the guy started bragging he was getting like 50 something miles per gallon. he had no idea how, but he was.

then for a few weeks they started siphoning out gas. he came into the office one day scratching his head. he had just taken his car to the dealer because he went from 50mpg to like 8mpg. the dealer told him everything was fine. they kept this going for a while until the guy finally figured it out lol.

vag-com the car for codes, write them down , reset them , see if any fault codes related with oxigen sensors / maf sensor...may decrease you gas mileage.

ok sorry to butt in but im only noticing 16 mpg city. of course i do enjoy spirited driving every once in a while but most of the time its shifting after 3 grand. i did notice the car car is going into slight limp mode every now and again. i thought i might have a code and brought it to o'reilly's. sure enough i had a p0300, random misfire on it. any suggestions?
