unlplugging the fuse to the ABS will cause the ABS light to go on.

so unplugging it will cause problems, there is no autozone here so flashing it will be the only option?

I have a 99 with 164K 2.8 V6

Most of the problems the group mentioned earlier I have also seen:

Door trim replaced 90K
Water pump 85K and 130K
Wiper motor and transmission
Blinker relay 2x
Rear wheel bearings
Rear CD disk changer 100K
Coolant sensor 2x 40k and 80k
O2 sensor light on now!
Rear axle seals leaked from 40k
Bad r/h control arm now!
Spider piping bad-actually disintegrated 130k
Leaking valve cover gaskets 2x
Flaky switch on Cruise control

Yes. But most Autozones nowadays won't clear codes. You can either buy an OBDII scanner for about fifty bucks or you can buy Ross-Tech's software then head over to eBay and buy an OBDII/USB cable. From there you can clear all your codes and whatnot through your laptop.

I have this same thing happen to mine. whats the best way of getting this fixed?

hi.. i have 01 a4. my front left door wont lock with cent locking. all other doors and working ok. would be greatfull for any help thanks.

Generic OBD-II scanners can't scan if your ABS system is faulty IIRC. I tried to get mine scanned at auto zone with a known bad front sensor and it wouldn't scan. Fixed the problem car scanned.

Real easy... check out ECSTuning for the replacement parts. It will take you 5 min to swap out...

Exactly the same issue mate, makes it bloody awful....

i did have a power steering leak too, and my front control arms are bad
