I think I'm going to try something original and see how it works out. I might just go for some 3" piping from the cat back and keep the stock muffler. What I'm contemplating is if I should get a high flow resonator or no resonator at all. I want it quiet, but I still want to be able to hear it at least. What do you guys think?

 

Pointless cuz your still choking down the air with the stoke muffler size...

 

lol if you want quiet please save yourself the time and do not get 3" w/ no resonator to muffler...

i got 2.5" w/ no resonator to magnaflow muffler and it was way too loud and droned like a BIA.

That's informative, because that's what I'm thinking of doing. Maybe he should try just the magnaflow in place of the stock muffler and keep the stock cat back.

Right now I think I hear more engine noise than muffler, but at the same time, I don't want to draw attention to myself like a ricer. I want my car to sound like it came with a tuned exhaust from the factory, the way a M3 or a Porsche might sound.

 

I understand what you're saying, but would I really be making much of a difference anyway with just getting the magnaflow muffler?

 

The UPS man just dropped mine off. Now, should I just get this welded up or get more parts.... hurm....

Great idea, I hadn't even thought about a before video.

I just need to make my mind up about what I want to do with the rest of the exhuast. I was thinking test pipe, 2.5 resonator to this, but flynnr's comment has me wondering if that might be too loud. Decisions, decisions.

 

flynnr said it's too loud with 2.5 straight back to magnaflow with no res. He's saying get a res so it sounds healthy with no drone. This is a pretty proven good sounding setup and if you still want it quieter then you can always add a second resonator.
