i was actually looking for a camry until i ran into audis and i have to say they are pretty darn reliable... just like any car no car is perfect just keep that in mind... you're audi may come fully maintained or it may not... but a4's sometimes run into things like bad rack and pinions, control arms, and what not... but i have to say its a pretty good car... you're basicly driving a german and luxury version of a toyota lol

When you first see the car, go off of your first reaction and gut instinct. If you pull up and it impresses you look wise, and the wear and tear on it is minimal, you'll be okay. I've seen so many people talk them selves into a car and saying "well I guess I could fix this, or deal with that." You cannot go wrong with a nice maintained b5 at all. One of the best cars I've owned. To be completely honest on the flip side, all cars have there downfalls and normal issues. Ask for service records and part receipts, that's ALWAYS a plus too !

Thanks guys! yeah i guess once you know common issues with the car, it's up to you to decide if its a good one or bad.

I myself purchased a 2001 a4 tqm about a year ago, and over all it has been a beast, never left me stranded. There have bee little thigs here and there due to maintance neglect by previous owner. These are fine tuned performance vehicles, and with proper care and maintance they will leave any asian car in the dust. just make sure that you do maintance as soon as its due, otherwise it will build up on you, that where so many people get the idea that german cars are expensive is because people let little things go for thousands of miles, until one day you wake up and its grown into a great big problem that costs 4x more than the little thing.
