Default timing belt question.

okay so i know im already past when i should have done my timing belt but im wondering how long i can really put it off?
because i think i need new shocks, control arms, and most likely ball joints too because theres a clunk in my driver side front of my car when i go over a bump.
and just lately when i come from a stop it sounds like somethings rubbing just as i take off but once i get going the sound stops.

any ideas or help is much appriciated.

any suggestions for quality parts on either of the 2. ive got about 1200 bucks to spend on this total

Do the timing belt first. How many miles do you have? I wouldn't risk blowing the top end of your motor if it fails.

NM, just saw in your sig you have ~80K miles. Do the timing belt first. Your suspension can last longer then your motor can.

Also do the timing belt yourself. If you buy the parts and do it yourself or even find someone else to help you out then you can do it for about $300. I see your in Boise ID. Im in Eastern WA so it would be a bit of a drive (400ish miles) but if you don't want to spend the money at a shop and can't do it yourself I can help you out with it if you come up here. Plus I want to put together a TB DIY video for a 2.8. LOL

seriously, your debating over your engine or suspension? for real, would you rather have a car that actually runs and will stay running for another at least sixty thousand, or a car that could die at any moment but heh, what the hell? the ride is smooth... this is a no brainer.
