hmm i'll have to see if it only happens when i'm low on gas. but wouldn't they be smart enough to have the gas tank tilted towards the pickup tube in the first place? :s

It's the fuel moving around, happens to me.

Imagine a normal looking fuel tank, like on the FWD B5s, now imagine a driveshaft running through the middle of it.

Can you picture the U shape of the tank? Tilting it wouldn't matter, fuel would still be stuck on the other side of the driveshaft.

gotchya. thats probably why our cars are so damn heavy. they put pumps and what not all over the place instead of relocating haha

I get this sound too if the tank's not full. Generally my tank is topped up so I don't hear it that often.
