Could you tell me how to determine the tranny type in my99 a4? and how to replace the fluid.

 

the tranny type??? You mean manual vs automatic? No, you cannot mean that, right??

I dunno about manual, but if you have a tiptronic/automatic you don't want to do it yourself... You have to do it from underneath the car with a fluid pump, with special (not typical) tranny fluid, with the car running at a certain temperature.
