transmission drain plug

Default transmission drain plug

i plan on servicing both my diff and transmission but do not have a tripple square bit that size or even any bits with the saftey pin. anyone know the exact size bit for the 5 speed drain plug or even a link where i can order one?

You can purchase a 3/8-drive triple-square drain plug socket from zdmack.com. The tool number is 3357.

Hazet make a 1/2-drive version as well, but for a higher cost.

I got mine off ebay, searched for audi transmission drain socket or something.

16mm triple square. many of them have the hole in it

eBay has them cheap. And good quality too. Just make sure you buy from the US.

Not too sure about ebay quality. The one I bought works but it's clearly made with massive tolerances because it's too small and I'm afraid of stripping the drain plug every time I use it.
