Default Transmission issues again...

So about two months ago I had an issue where one of the lines that connects my ATF to my radiator popped off and spilled ATF on a short drive to work. I ended up filling my ATF up and wanted to wait to change the filter so the old one would take up most of the crap and then put in the new filter. So a few days ago It was the first frost we had in wisconsin. Was running a little late to work so I hoped in and started to drive. When I got to the first stop sign at the end of my street I had an issue where the car wouldn't go into drive. It would go into reverse so I had the car reverse back into my driveway. The car will shift into drive but it I have to throw to about 5k rpm where it only goes into (guessing) 3rd gear and won't change (limp mode?). After it goes into drive all of the lights from park through lights up, so I know it's a transmission issue. Any suggestions. 97 a4 auto 135k miles.
Sorry about the shitty post, doing it in a hurry.
Oh, also the night before I filled up my tires and replaced a couple of vac lines with silicone vac lines, don't know if it'd make a difference but thought I'd add that in.
