Default Transmission problems, 3 error codes.. help please

OK well i been having trouble with my car for quite some time, its been in and out of tranmission shops and im about to pull my hair out to find some kind of help. I spent thousands of dollars already trying to fix this damn problem and im gettin frustrated. Here is the deal, it wont engadge, however if i up the rpm's and kick it about 4k RPM it will jerk into the gear and then gets stuck in 4th gear. It leaks fluid profoundly.. and its almost to the point where I just want to blow the ******* car up and claim insurance.. but anyway..

Its a 01, 1.8t TipTronic...

So i hooked up VAG to it and scanned the AUTOTrans control mod... here are the codes
[ul][*]P1057 - Error Message from ECU[*]P0734 - Gear 4 Incorrect[*]P0730 - Incorrect Gear Ratio[/ul] SO I HAVE NO idea what the hell to do. Its hard enough trying to dump tons of money into it and it being the way it is... What are my options.. Replace, maybe it might be something im overlooking..

Here is what has been replaced so far.
[ul][*]Valvebody[*]Torque Converter[*]Front seal[*]Front main pump[*]input drum/shaft[*]cv axles (and seals)[*]rear main seal on the engine[*]rear seal on the tranmission[/ul]Im running out of idea's... someone please come to my rescue..

Thanks.

Is the car in limp mode. For the transmission, this would give background lighting to the gears, (reversed from usual). Tranny will only run in 4th and reverse.

Find someone who works on VW Audi. Your regular shop wont be able to fix this.

Thanks david, great info ill print that out and see if i can find a vw/audi place around here..

Yes sometimes it does go into limp mode, but when I turn it off, and turn it back on, it will try to drive and go, but than if i stop it locks into 4th gear.

I guess its a new tranny time.

I find myself faced with the same problem but my car will select 1st and 2nd gear and then go to limp mode . I took it in for A VAG scan and the results came back with a 17100 Transmission Input Speed Sensor (G182): Implausible Signal P0716. What seems to be the problem here? please help...

It sounds like you've been through a lot with your car's transmission issues. Despite replacing numerous parts, those error codes suggest there might still be an underlying issue that hasn't been addressed. It could be worth consulting with a different transmission specialist who might have a fresh perspective on the problem. Given the extensive repairs and ongoing issues, it's also a good idea to check with zillion insurance customer service to understand what options you might have for coverage on these costly repairs or if it's more feasible to consider other solutions. Hopefully, you find a resolution soon so you can avoid further frustration.
