Default A tune up with the tax return- suggestions.

I am due to get my tax return within 2 weeks. I am in college so money is rather tight. Since I put about 72.5 miles a day on the car just driving to school, I figured I should treat it with a tune up. I have no idea when the last tune up (if any) was ever done. I got it at 176K on it and now it has just over 222K on it. I got that timing belts/waterpump/radiator done a year ago so I am good there.

Autohauz az (who I buy my parts from) reccommends all kinds of stuff. But as a broke a$$ college kid just trying to improve my car's gas mileage and life I need a more economical approach. I was thinking just the O2 sensor and plugs and wires... any other tips?

How much am I getting? vague question.

I'm assuming you mean mileage? If so, it's about 400 a tank so about 24 miles/gallon. I do about 95% highway driving (literally).

Oh, $1400.

Do I want all that to go into the car? No. The plugs, wires, and 02 sensor would probably eat $150 out of that (online price from autohaus az)... just need tips and suggestions

i would just do the major fluids (oil, tranny+dif, coolant)and spark plugs and wires. no reason to buy any sensors unless yours go bad. then just check the tires, inflate and rotate if necessary. give her a nice wash, and go for a cruise.

agreed, don't need to buy new 02 sensor unless they go bad. unless u have a cel for it then don't worry about it.
