Default turbxs racing bypass valve type 25 rbv question

http://www.tunersports.com/product/t...v-25_1306.html

I bought that valve and it had 8 washers with it. I put it in with the bottom going into the lower hose and the side going to the intake tube. I do not know what the washers are for. I have stock motor and turbo and a K&N intake. Should I leave all washers in or none or one? I'm new to the dv seen so any info/help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Edit: I forgot to mention I own a 1999 Audi A4 quattro 1.8T AEB automatic.

ive never even seen one of these in person, but just by looking at the picture on the website, id say it goes in the other way, just like stock DVs do. the bottom goes to your inlet, side goes to you intercooler hose. then you need a vac line going to the top nipple. the washers go inside the device to adjust how much pressure the spring puts on the piston inside

I do have the vac line going from top of dv to the intake manifold. also i figured thats what the washers were for, but should i put them all in or some? im just not sure how many if any i should have in it with a stock turbo? I feel that if I had a bigger turbo setup maybe i would need more? I dunno though.

It is a piston type valve, I used to run one back when I had a K03 which was about 9 years ago. lol

It goes in the way you have it. Vac line pointing up, side tube back to intake hose and bottom to the boost source.

The washers are used to increase the tension of the spring by making the space smaller for the spring. This helps over come any pressure drop caused by a FMIC. The more washers you put in the more vacuum is needed to open the valve.

Ok cool, Thank you. So having less washers in it is better?

Yes. Then add 1 at a time if you need. If you have too many it can cause the valve to open very late and less.

Awesome! Thank you so much! I put one in it and it seems to be fine. I do not hear anything from it sound wise but oh well. It runs a lot better! Thanks for taking the time to help me out!
