nice, would love to see that finished, is it real suede or ultra-suede(polyester)?

micro-suede or ultra-suede(softer) is a polyester fiber that is "sueded" to give it a soft suede feel/look.

its nice because it wont be ruined by water/moisture and is stain resistant.
because its polyester its washable with the most basic ingredients(soap water etc.) making it the wise and the cheapest choice. though it rips fairly easy.

tho if you were to find REAL suede its much more durable, very little possibility of fade, wont be ripped or scratched as easy, but will be easily damaged by water/moisture....

However, you can get a leather or suede protectant spray from any shoe store (make sure the spray doesn't have alcohol) and it should last forever and give it a light resistance to moisture.
the suede will be expensive, the spray is cheap.
