underglow
I just installed underglow on my car a couple hours ago but I encountered a problem. They only give you about 2 feet of cord if that, so I have the connection running out the door to a bracket around 6-8 inches away from the exhaust. However, due to the lack of cord I have to run the cord under the exhaust pipe around 1 inch, I fear this isnt going to be enough but I cant think of another way to mount it so the cords dont melt, is there something fairly inexpensive I can wrap around it to have it resist the heat, or can u guys think of any other way to mount it where I wont have this problem.
Also, while at the hardware store I realized the connection is completely exposed to the elements, what can I put around it to protect it? Keep in mind to that like I said it is 6-8 inches away from the exhaust.

you've actually almost got it. all you need is a box cutter too and should only take you about 15-25 seconds depending on how sharp your blade is. just take the underglow in a firm grip in your hand, and cut all the wires and destroy the evidence

are you a complete electrical n00b?!!! you could extend the cord as far as you fricken wanted with two items and two items alone. wire and electrical tape. i mean, come on man! you can even use the electrical tape to hide your exposed connection. im pretty sure these other guys got it right though. unless your trying to completely rice out your car, in that case it will fit quite well. and a word to the wise, underglow lights are illegal in many states.

agreed - it's really easy to extend the wire so that it'll be a lot safer. otherwise the wire could easily melt and short to ground and start a fire. post up some pics once you get it installed, i had an underglow kit on my last car and i think they look great (usually)

eBay them? Seriously though there's only a handful of car's that can pull it off tastefully.
