I dont think they ever planned on pushing it to the limit like 034. I also had to edit my post since it was a gt4088r. If they really wanted to max it out, they would have to swap out that manifold for a nice tube man and probably have to up the fueling even more. But yes, it could easily make 650awhp if they wanted to with that turbo.

thanks for the info. i was just tossing out ideas, dont really think id ever get around to swaping in an I5 though it would be sweet.

if i were u, i'd would only go with a vr6 swap if you were trying to stick with the whole vw/audi name. otherwise the ls1 is a much better way to go. it will net you much higher numbers with less money but would require alot more work.
Not sure if you're confusing me with the original poster?

I'm not installing the LS1, I'm installing an Audi S8 4,2L motor.

LS1? with gas prices the way they are? You would be better off doing an SR20 or something, you would get the same power, RWD and twice the MPG. Plus it would maintain the original weight balance, so you wouldnt have to do front suspension...

Plus people might actually like it.

SR20's are cheap enough, you could probably trade that heavy dinosaur LS1 for one straight up.

The 1.8t is getting close to where we can stay with evos in term of power. People just need to not cheap out and spend the money on head work so they can flow and rev higher. WIth a AEB head with proper cams, springs, and valve job it would flow great and be able to rev out to 9 and even 10k. That will allow us to run T4 turbos and make huge power also. Add that with a 2.2L stroker and you will have a very potient power plant

9 and 10K? wow, thats up there. I would think that your flywheel would fly apart at those rpm's.

The FW has nothing to do with the revs. It basically comes down to your crank being balanced and the springs able to hold the valves closed.
