Default Vac line, coolant tank replacement

Hey guys, just finished up replacing my vac lines and coolant tank..YIKES. I'm surprised the damn thing was still running. I've inspected the vac lines visually a coupla times and they looked ok, but once i started movin them around, they pretty much turned to dust in my hands. I didn't think to get a before shot of the original vac lines in place but here's what they look like after i got them all off:

And here's the new ones I put on. Don't hate, blue is my favorite color and will eventually match a theme .

Also took the time today to swap out my leaky coolant expansion tank. Here's the culprit:

I think the new one really updates the look of the engine bay, see before and after, respectively:

Long story short, if you haven't replaced your vac lines yet, i strongly suggest you do so. Also for the record, i bought the 15' length of vac line from ECS and only used about half of it. If anyone wants it i'd be more than happy to ship it to you. Have a good weekend, gentlemen!

i have a leak in the same place as you did on the coolant tank. does that mean i have to replace the tank too? i though it was the hose clamp or the hose it self that might be crappy. if i need a new tank, where can i get a good priced one. BTW i have the 1998 model.

honestly, it was probably the crappy clamp that was on there and not the tank, but i used the leak as an excuse to buy a shiny new tank

I replaced all the clamps with stainless screw-type clamps, I would strongly suggest you do the same.

@B5 Audi, eventually I'm planning on shaving the engine bay, removing all the engine covers, and going with blue plug wires, intake piping, etc. and so-forth.

Looks great man - plan on someone stealing the CES from your car at the meet. When that happens, I won't know anything about it

what size line did you use?! I've bought 2 different sizes both which I was told our size and wasn't! My Ow Owdi is my main car and until I dewinterize my bike I can just take a hose off and carry it in!
