I keep seeing this, so it's basically a scantool... for my laptop, but why? I could just use my scantool. What's it do that's so special?

And, if it ~is~ worth it, how, where, and what one do I get?

Your basic scan tool typical only ready emissions related codes. Vagcom reads just about if not all system codes. I.e airbags, instrument cluster and so on. Vagcom also allows you to change certain perameters and settings that the average scan tool will not allow. You also can retrieve much more information with vagcom. Not to mention the technical support you can get from calling rosstech. Go to ross-tech website and you should be able to make the purchase through them. I use the Hex-USB+CAN version. You also are giving updates regularly which is included in pricing.

 

I just want to make sure I don't buy the wrong one, what does HEX+Can mean? I know what usb is, of course
