Default VAG COM Driving Me Crazy!!!

Hey guys im having problem with connecting my laptop to my car via OBDII cable.

I got it in the mail today and it came with VAG COM and USB Drivers
Installed the program
Installed the Drivers
Connected Cable into USB port
Connected OBDII into CAR
Started the car and tried to test the connection...

It keeps telling me that

"Port already in use.
Interface:Not Found!"

I switched ports from COM 2 to COM 1 and still getting the same message

Can anyone help me with this please

is it a shitty chinesse copy, or the legit ross-tech vag-com cable? I was reading your other thread, there is no way you can get a ross-tech vag-com cable for 30 bucks unless its a chinesse copy which could be your problem with it.

ya i've yet to be able to get vag com to work on vista but it does work for some people. what you need to do is plug in vag com, set a COM port designated to that USB port to the vag cable. XP works better and i can help you with that, partitioning and the whole shabang
