Question Vanity License Plates....?

Hey guys

I have another idea that I have been thinking about doing (...well buying). My 2001 2.8 has the factory front license plate holder (unused and ugly) and I was thinking...

Can I remove this front holder that some of our B5's came with? I mean obviously you can, but will it leave a dirt smudge or permanent mark on the front bumper since this thing has been on for over 8 years? Also, couldnt the screw holes that are in the bumper rust out if I did take it out? Input for this would be appreciated...

Also, I dont know if I want the holder off yet so I was thinking about maybe purchasing one of the audi vanity license plates below. Do any of you have one of these on your bumpers? My car is silver, so if I get one, should I get the silver one or the black one. I'd get the silver one because my car is silver, but I also want the black one because it blends in with the LP holder and brings out the audi rings nicely. I dont plan on buying this if i do until the winter goes away, but do these things dent really easily from rocks, debris flying up? If any of you have one of these PLEASE post a pic of it. These are $40, not cheap, so I dont want to buy it unless I KNOW it looks good.

Thanks in advance guys...

Here are the vanity license plates....Lookin Good!!!

A pic of the front license plate holder is attached below

just get a Euro plate, 1, the bumper is made of plastic so you don't have to worry about rust. 2) Euro plates are sick nasty. 3) that Audi thing just looks weird to me

so since you already have holes and I'm sure you don't want to get a whole new bumper, I would say get a Euro plate and be happy.

I took off the frame thing on the front and stuck a Euro plate on. It just looks so right on the front of an A4. Besides, the holes were not in the right place for a standard plate. :P

i thought about it but I dont want a euro plate, i think they look funny and they take away from the beautiful styling of the B5 front (colors clash, just doesnt look right). Ok, so i am an idiot and forgot that the bumper was made of plastic (lol ) but I have no interest in a euro plate, so please, again, if anyone has experience with these vanity plates then give me your input. Thanks again....

O ya, CAB, why do you think the Audi logo on these plates look funny? -It is identical to the Audi rings that are on all of our grills

Why advertise you are driving an Audi with an Audi rings plate? Seems kinda pointless and redundant to me.

Well, I mean you have the manufacturer badges on the front and back, correct? Adding a plate with more seems a bit too much. That's just what I think though. Go for it if that's what you want.

Like I said to my dad when he wanted to stick a "BMW" license plate frame on the back of his BMW.. "Oh... so people can tell you are driving a BMW right? In case they couldn't tell from the badges?"

i see what your saying phili, but i think that having an audi license plate looks better than having a state license plate, dont you agree? And actually, I think that having this on the back would look awesome especially under my L.P. LEDs at night but I have my MI plate in the back so I would put this up front. I think Im gunna go for it as soon as it warms up, dont want it right now in the shitty weather

I agree, adding more Audi rings to the front seem unnecessary and like something that would be regretted. I also agree with just getting a euro plate. These are euro cars so I don't see why putting a euro plate on them wouldn't look right. Or just take the plate holder off and fill in the holes.
