For the record you cannot do the windows up/down with key fob, 1 touch unlock all doors etc with VCDS-Lite. VCDS-Lite does not allow you to save when using the adaptation and recode features.

I found a code to disable the "driver door open chime" in case anyone was interested in applying it. You enter instrument cluster # 17 and enter "recode".
02244 is my default code,i changed it to 02444,this value didn't cut off the seatbelt chime but it turned off the chime,when the driver door is open.:) The code i found is odd in that is should'nt even work,according to the chart that i use to create the codes,if you take this code and see how it was created,it won't make sense on how it actually does anything.:confused: Don't be alarmed( no pun intended ) but there will be a little antenna icon with waves coming out both sides and your digital clock will not be readable where you can see the digits.:rolleyes: 1 down,1 more to go! I could'nt find the code to disable the seatbelt chime,only disable the seatbelt icon and that is done by subtracting 2 from the first value 02,so when you program your B5 with the code 02444,then recode that with 00444,it will disable the seatbelt icon,in addition to the disabling of the driver door open chime,which is pretty useless as it doesn't disable chime from sounding off.:D anyone find the code to disable the seatbelt chime,please let me know. ^_^ |
Nice work so far. Keep us posted.

Sure thing,to be honest,the seatbelt chime isn't really what i was concerned about,being it only sounds off for a total of what...5-6 seconds? and you never hear it again,until you turn your car off and on again,not like in newer cars,where it won't stop until you actually,buckle your seatbelt or keep sounding off every couple minutes or so.:rolleyes:
I was more concered about the door chime sounding off every time i open the door,you know the drill fellas,your about to get out the B5,your on the iphone with one friggin leg hanging out the door and the open door chime is ringing in your ear! :mad: or your at the car wash and your vacumming and it going off for for about 1-2 minutes! :rolleyes: I am a happy man now :) |
Morpheous what you did there is change your car's country from USA to Great Britain, I guess they don't care about open doors in Britain lol. As for the no seatbelt chime all you have to do is change it to 00444 in your case. Here is the chart for cluster recoding from the ross-tech site:
It changes in 2000 so make sure to use the right sections here but the first 2 numbers control warnings, the 3rd is the country, 4th is cylinders and last in engine type. Code:
* ??xxx: Options (< MY 1999) |
