Default Very loud noise under acceleration, please help!!

Hello there my fellow b5ers

Im having the following problem and even though i found some post with similar problems to mine, none convinced me too much.

I have a 98 base (aeb) 5 speed, almost stock, that its making some really loud noise under acceleration on all gears, it started a couple of weeks ago, also recently, a couple of times it has turned off on me while at a stop light, im thinking it has something to do with the tranny or maybe the turbo its going, but im not sure and i dont wanna take either down w/o consulting with u guys first, please ask as much as you want and any help would be greatly appreciated

It sounds like bearing sound, but i have pinpointed the sound to the turbo, its the original KKK turbo, so its probably giving up on me

And the turning off its getting worst, today i was driving around and it would turn off every time i would stop in a light, or in traffic, and i would make a sound as if something was stuck in the turbo and it couldn't spool, also its very hot right now in Miami and i think that just makes it worst.

What do u think??

Check your boost hoses for leaks and your diverter valve and vacuum line to if before condemning the turbo. Also check for codes in the ECU.

Hows your clutch? How smoothly does it shift?

Its pretty smooth, never had a slip or noise, i thats why i discarded the notion, the turbo however... it has been sounding a bit rattly in the past few months, mostly on low rpm starts, and im not boosting any right now, i feel like im driving and astrovan plus the noise definitely coming from the turbo, i started it a lill ago and paid really close attention, def the turbo

I was thinking of a small upgrade, k04 its my best option right now (no $$ u know) i was just wondering could i drive it with my current soft till i can upgrade? also would all the hoses fit?

K04 is a direct bolt on. Software is required for optimum performance, but it can be run with stock software without a noticeable difference.

For a used turbo, shokan in ny is your best bet.
