Default Very Strange Problem.

Ok so I recently noticed when i turn my wheel there is a small about of smoke the comes from behind my steering wheel, almost so small that you wouldn't even notice it. But I can also smell a slightly electrical burning smell? Does anyone have experience with this?

or have the slightest idea what it might be?

Thanks in advance guys.

Yeah that is strange. Could be the combination switch which is part of the entire windshield wiper/turn sginal stalk unit that is known to sometimes fail. Other than that, depending on what year you have, it could be your ignition switch. There is a recall on them for some 96-99 models.

Give your local dealer a call and give them your vin # to see about the ignition switch recall. I bet thats it. That is, if you have pre 2000. Well, either way, not a bad idea to check with the dealer.

I'm not sure if this is related or not but my cruise control does not work either. ( I have a 1998 1.8t). I'll give the nashville audi dealer tomorrow. This another problem I have, I'm more than 1000 miles away from my audi mechanic (St. Cloud ,MN) and won't be home for another 50 days.

My money is on the 2 wires. 1 if your turning the wheel you probably have your turn signal on and 2 they may only briefly touch and 3 it probably blew the fuse.
