Pull the exhuast, then the heat shield. Wiggle the shaft in the center bearing, then out at the CV joints. Any movement is too much.

That's what I was afraid of. The manifold-to-downpipe studs look like they're snap if I try to unbolt the downpipes, so I'm dreading having to do that.

Leave the downpipes there. Just take the exhaust apart at those sleeves. That will give you enough room to do what you need to do.

I'm still encouraging my $15 solution. Hubcentric wheel rings. Had the same exact problem. 100% gone now.
Just go to any tire shop near you and have them hook you up with the right ones. Problem solved.
It's at least worth a shot...

Doesn't need 'em. He has OEM rims.

any updates on this - i have the same issue - balanced and rotated the tires and the vibration is still there around 55-60mph and not dependent on load so its defiantly rotational

Even though the vibration was felt in the front seats and not the steering wheel, the main issue was with the front half shafts.

Replaced the following:
+ OEM rims, round and true
+ New tires
+ Front control arms (improved a little)
+ All three motor mounts and both transmission mounts (improved a little)
+ Driveshaft (improved a little)
+ Rear half shafts (improved a little)
+ Front half shafts (improved a LOT. there is a little vibration at 58mph but barely noticeable)

The driver's side shaft had a rusted area that was flaking away. My theory is that enough metal flaked off to make the shaft just barely out of balance at 55-60mph and somehow sent the vibration through the drivetrain instead of the wheel/steering rack.
