Default VW turbo on a4?

Hey guys,
I have a 99.5 A4 1.8TQ Tip and I just ordered a carbonio intake, center vent boost gauge and getting Apr 93 octane chip but I have 130,000km on my car so I kinda want to replace the turbo because I hear they blow easy when being chipped. My question is will a vw turbo say the ko3s work with my car? I dont have the cash anymore to buy a ko4 so i figure the ko3s being a little stronger then the ko3 should work. Any help is appreciated

thanks,

Tyson

The KO3s will work and actually comes stock on '01s. I believe Cincy said the KO4 is only rated at like 5-10 more hp than the KO3s so if can source the KO3s at a good price I'd say go for it. Also, as long as the car is cared for a chip will not harm it.
