Waiting for the veridict...
So I finally took my car into the Geico-run body shop place after somebody hit-and-ran me when I was still stationed in Texas. The good news is that the guy's insurance not only is paying for everything on the car (duh), but I also got a free rental while the repairs get done. Bad news is that they want to total the car. They estimate the damage at a little over $5,000 because they'll have to replace almost every body panel on the driver's side (the damage wasn't bad enough that it wasn't drivable and the doors still open and shut just fine but they are creased pretty good). They still haven't decided if they're going to total it out or not, but if they do I decided to be proactive and search for another car...so far I haven't found any A4s worth purchasing but I did happen to find a MkV Jetta TDI that piqued my interest somewhat. It's going to be a shame to let go of my Audi, I LOVE that car, but if they're just going to total the car then that's that I suppose. Spend $3,000 of the money on the diesel Jetta, get 55 MPG, and save up for an S4 I guess.
