I just ordered a used one from a member over at AZ. Really just got in as a just in case thing. What where your symptoms or how do you know you need a new one?

My cars symptoms where when I came up to a light twice in a week the engine started to rev up and push me forward going towards the car in front of me. Kind of scary. People told me it was my throttle body. I pulled the codes and got one for the coolant temp sensor, so that might be the problem also.?. Just look around and find someone that is parting out a car and see what you can get one for.

DBC throtle bodies should never fail. They are purely mechanical. Best thing to do is remove it and clean the hell out of it with brake cleaner. Make sure you get a new gasket of course.

yea they almost never fail, just get dirty. its not like coil packs that you need to keep for backup purposes. why do you need one anyways?

Reason for needing another is that I get a Vag-Com code 17967-throttle body controll part #j338 fault in basic settings. I called an Audi repair shop and they said it most likely need a throttle body. Said they could reset it (didn't give a price) but no guarrantees.

I have the basic Vag-Com, not the registered version.

Sounds like your throtle position sensor/TPS/potentiometer is bad. I'm actually not sure if it is sold seperate from the throtle body which in that case you would need a new TB. Here is something that might help, not for an A4, but a VW product nonetheless. See if you can give it a shot on yours:

Thank you for the site and information. Daughter's car runs ok at highway speed, but stalls out in stop and go traffic. Sometimes when at a stop sign it will run good, then stumble a few seconds, catch and run ok again. I will try that fix the next time she brings it up here (50 miles away).
