I think tank size should be the same. I think the current tuning causes it to eat more gas.
Plus I also drive with all the windows down and the rack doesn't help the situation.

It's all good though since I don't DD it.

i DD the **** out my car lol... something is wrong with my injectors or something though cuz if i go over 65 the car dies and at idle it likes to drop to like 50 rpm then back up to like 800 lol.. somethings not right haha

That completely sucks.

But yeah, if you ever come to a GTG, one of the guys should have a VAG handy!
I'm actually in the process of having a photo shoot and a Sunday cruise one of these days. I'll keep you updated
