Default watch this drive-by video (turn up volume)

ok so my friend was filming this video for his video production class and we used my car for a drive in, and listen to this clip... wtf

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZfFmpnPSIA

i can not hear this noise from inside my car, and he said he didnt notice it when he was filming either, but it is there and definitely is coming from my car...

i know my clutch doesnt hold above about 7psi because the clutch is done for (ko4 pc-16) and clutch has studder at low rpm in too high of gear going slow, and during this movie i was in 2nd gear (should have been in 1st) and going slow up that small incline, and i remember giving it some gas right there so is that the clutch slipping?

car runs very well, and my clutch/flywheel is coming on tuesday so im hoping that is my clutch.

You need to do more testing.

Does it make that noise at idle?
Does it go away when you push the clutch in?
How bout when your rolling with it out of gear?

Jack it up and spin your wheels one at a time it sounds like a wheel bearing but, for it to be that loud at such a low speed it must be wasted...IDK

If you get shudder at high load then your clutch is completely done and it is most likely down to the metal rivits.

The sound is not there till you get right next to the sign which allows the sound to bounce off of it and toward the camera.

Did you get the clutch in last week?

Sounds like a water pump belt to me. Clutches usually don't make noise when they go, the rpms just come up and the car either won't go, or you get that feeling that it just isn't grabbing the gear.

But he said that him and the person holding the camera can not hear the noise, they only hear it on the video.

I think I know what that is. I had a spring on my clutch break. The spring was like a metal strip and when it broke it was still connected on one end while the other end began cutting into the transmission housing. I caught it in time as to not cause any real damage, but let it go long enough and I suppose it could cut your tanny in half. I use to have pictures of it somewhere... I'll see if I can find them.

That is the flat spring, I have had that happen to me twice now when the pressure plate cracked into many pieces from it being heated up by the disk slipping.

Problem with this is that would cause noise all of the time not some of the time since the spring would be hitting the housing every time it rotates. This can do major damage to the bell housing.
