Exclamation Water Damage Issues Passenger side.

New to this forum, first post. Checked it out, now im posting. Used to have a 2005 350z, which was hit and totalled, so went for an 01 Audi 1.8t A4 quattro. Got a great deal (2000 bucks!) on it. Its still a baby with only 44k on 'er. Catch was that the window was left open, water got in, and the car failed to start. previous owner took it to Audi and they got it runnin for 1400 bucks. Told customer they may be lookin at thousands more to diagnose and fix. With it at least runnin, they decided not to spend more and sold it to me.

The issue is that nothin works on it, but it runs/drives. Directly related to the prev. owner leaving the window open, and and puttin about 2 inches of water on the passenger side floor of the car is not correct. So far, ive found the seat heaters, radio, and climate control dont work. Also EVERY warning light is lit up on the display. What im lookin for here is direction as to where to start. Parts for this car are readily available, but I would like to know what to look for, and what could have possibly been damaged. Its all weird and unfamiliar to me, because like i said, it runs, and quite well. Audi's invoices didnt state exactly what they did, but I know they didnt replace any majour components.

Please help this newbie!!
Thanks in advance, Joey T in CT

sounds like an electrical HELL. im definitely not qualified to tell you whats wrong with the car, but when you say all the warning lights are on despite the fact the car runs fine, it leads me to believe the electrical system is fucked. sounds like a handful, good luck

it only got wet on the passenger side? there really isnt much on that side that could have gotten screwed up becides the fog light relay and anything under the passenger seat.

unless the car got completely flooded and hit the fuse box and relay panel.

i agree with fastera4thanyours. perfect rally/track car
