Default went to see this a4 tonight

looked pretty nice http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/822150062.html
Problem: sun roof does not open completely, climate control stuff blinks on and off, and the back bumper has bumper sticker residue (probably would repaint).
I said i could probably do 4,700 and he said that he would think about it. Saw it at night so i will go see it again tomorrow during the day. He also said that he would take $100 of for the climate controll or fix it.
tell me what you guys think.
Thanks,
Chris

It looks like an ok deal. 115K is real good for a '96. Ask if the timing belt was replaced yet, if the seller claims it was, ask for receipts. Just remember, if reliability is your thing, then the 2.8 is your motor. If you want to mod it then the 1.8T is your motor. Quattro is bitchin' in bad weather.

yea i know that i want a 2.8l. dont want to be temped to dump to much money into it. if i do buy it i will probably get new shocks and springs and after the winter get some nice rims on it. estimating that the shocks and springs will cost about a grand all together, back bumper will cost maybe 350? to paint, it also has rust on the drivers mirror (100?) and hopefully the climate controll is just the wiring (100?). dont think i wilkl care enough to fix the sunroof, and dont think it its worth it either since that seems to be a reoccuring problem with these cars.

Doesn't look too bad, but definitely take a look at it under better light. If you have sticker residue on the back bumper, just get some GooGone and it'll take it right off; no need to repaint it unless it is less than stellar shape

To give you an idea mine is the exact same car with the EXACT same mileage and in better shape and I picked it up for $3100. You could buy it though and it would make our cars worth more ha ha, or you could pass on it and keep looking.
