It looks like a one way check valve.

 

I found the other post about this piece and confirmed that fred2ka4 is correct. Now does anyone know where I could purchase one or four of these?

 

You should be able to go to your local automotive store and pick them up as they are universal. Double check the size but I punched in "1/4 check valve" and "vacuum check valve" in the search on ebay and a lot of different ones came up. They also came in 1/8 size.

 

$20 at the dealer or $2-8 depending on what automotive store you find them at

 

go to a junkyard and look for it in totaled audis, might even find it in a VW

It is a one way check valve and no reason to get a used one for the price of a new one at a parts store. The 1/8" one will be significantly smaller so you will notice right away if it's not the right one. Also no need to make sure it's for an Audi the ARE universal.
