what to buy
^if you don't have documentation that proves that your timming belt has been done, and your car has more than 80k on the clock, have it changed along with your H20 pump asap...
besides that, i would recommend:
air filter
fuel filter
spark plugs
cabin filter
and you should also think about a coolant, brake fluid, power steering, tranny, and diff fluid flush...
oil/filter are a given every 3-5k with full synthetic
also, you should get under your car look for any leaks, check your motir/tranny mounts, brake pads/rotors....
if you have any questions about something on your car, take some pics and post em up with your question....
welcome to the family, just remember, if you take care of your car it will take care of you...
maintenance is key, gl!

Service records! Timing belt and water pump should be done around 80k. Sometimes they are done earlier, sometimes after, but if these go on you, you're f**ked. Be prepared to spend some $$$ for the new timing belt and water pump, but it's we'll worth it. If you can't figure out if it's been done, bring it to a audi dealer to do, and it's not really an easy job.
And do everything qUaTtRoA4 said to do and check.

I just picked up an 01 1.8t last week and here's a list of the things I got/replaced: Mobil 1 synthetic oil, audi oil filter, dipstick and dipstick tube, air filter, wiper blade inserts, a few vacuum lines, thermostat, and spark plugs.
You just have to give your call a really good look over and see what's broken, and needs replacing. Here's really good maintenance schedule guide. This is the maintenance schedule the audi techs use. I believe this is up to date with the exception of the timing belt and tensioner should be done at and around 80k. NOT 105k.
