In a vain effort to lighten the car (for no other reason than i was bored yesterday) i took out the rear seats, boot carpet, tool kit, spare tire, floor mats and basically everything else that wasn't bolted down (and some bits that were ).

The spare tire alone weighs a whopping 19.5kg and the rear seat parts weigh just under 20kg. Probably a total weight saving of 50kg, which annoyingly isn't even the weight of a full tank of gas but its a start.

It does sound much nicer driving around as you can hear the fuel pump running and the exhaust a lot clearer and also lots of stones hitting off of the body when you go over gravel. Kinda reminds me of being in my friends rally car. Stripped back goodness ftw Nice.

^ Control arms... easy fix (ish)...

Look for FCP Groton on ebay... complete kits for a little over 200 bucks, many members here have used them with no issues (including me).

FINALLY, got another one time use tool (polydrive socket) and put my heads back on, after lunch, putting the rest of the engine back together, attaching trans, putting new motor mounts in, putting in car, drinking heavily. In that order.

Oh yeah... how dumb am I if I don't want to replace oil pan gaskets? (i have thick skin feel free to let loose)

Glad to hear you finally got the thing back together. I dunno if the oil pan gaskets are essential but I feel like you could get away with using some RTV in a pinch.

No, that's just the tape pad they give you for the middle piece, my car is a '96 so no LCD screen for me.

****. Install went fine until I put it back together and that little black piece didn't line up so when I went to snap it shut, it cracked. ****. Someone find me a part out cluster, I just need the plastic.

I also got rid of my airbag light finally after being on for 11 months. I removed the bulb.
