Default what the heck is wrong with my sunroof

why is it when i have it fully open . when i twist the switch around to the fully close the position the sunroof will get to about 95% closed then re-open all the way. then i gotta spin the switch around to open then back to close again then the second time it tries to close it works perfectly ? is there something wrong with it. ? is it a safety feature or something. does anyone else have this problem ?

There is an anti-pinch feature. If a window or the sunroof feels too much resistance it will open. That sounds like the problem you are having with your sunroof. You could try disconnecting your battery and reconnecting it, this calibrates the automatic up and down for the other windows, so maybe it will help with the sunroof, Im not sure. Otherwise make sure the sunroof isnt binding up.

yea just like dallas said theres a little saftey feature on it. You can try and read the manual on how to reset it but you should try and disconnect the battery for about 2 mins then connect it agian... but before u disconnect it make sure you have the code for the radio because on the stock radios you will need the code to activate the radio

It is not, should be in the radio owners manual, unless the card has been removed.

I had this problem and it turned out to be dirty/bent contacts in the rotary switch that opens and closes the sunroof. There's a DIY on here somewhere.

The radio code can be recovered for free if you call Audi of America with your VIN and politely ask to have them give it to you. A dealer will likely tell you they have to do something special and charge you an hours work for a 5 minute computer job.
