I think all you have to do is bypass the neutral safety switch for a manual.

I drive a manual, and have an aftermarket Viper Alarm system with remote start. One way ive noticed to see if it had a a remote start was to just remove and replace the positive side of the battery. the car should start, keys in pocket. I'm not sure if that is official, but that is what I have noticed.
