can someone tell me what limp mode is

 

when your car senses something wrong it adjusts its settings to more conservative numbers to prevent damage. if you have a 1.8t it means that you are limited to 5psi of boost and lower timing and fuel maps. the car will still run, you can still get to where your going instead of being stuck on the side of the road, but you will notice a significant power loss.

 

Its when your car thinks/knows something is majorly wrong and puts itself into a different mode. Less power, less strain as to do minimal damage to the engine if something is wrong. Someone correct me if im wrong.

 

i think my car is in limp mode my i have a 2.8 and it wont go to tiptronic any ideas on wats wrong?

 

No idea. Lol thats why i despise auto's, especially the new ones, electronically controlled and so many things can go wrong with them. Do you have someone that can vag it for you, you may have some codes?

what do you mean it wont go to tip? the stick physically wont shift over into the tip slot? or shifing in tiptronic doesnt work? you should go get your transmission scanned for codes.

P0411 is vag code 16795 which is "Secondary Air Injection System: Incorrect Flow Detected"
secondary air pump is a common problem but doesnt effect performance

P1141 is vag code 17549 " Load Calculation Cross Check: Implausible Value "

which is possibly a bad MAF or manifold pressure sensor or broken vacuum lines somewhere.

p1129 is a multiplicative long term fuel trim code.
p1127 is the same kind of code. also vag number 17535

you could have a leak somewhere or a bad MAF. you should clear the codes and check again in a week to see which ones come back.

im not sure if the generic autozone scanner does transmission codes too, you may need to go to a dealer or make a friend with vag-com.

 

i cleared them bout 5 times and the same codes pop up
