Default What is the name of this part?

Can someone please help me identify this part. I have attached a picture with two big yellow arrows pointing to the part that I need help identifying ...

http://i988.photobucket.com/albums/a...erhoodpart.jpg

Here's what happened ... One day, after changing my oil, i noticed a loud hissing sound upon starting up my car. I popped the hood to find that that one of my hoses was broken. I am not exactly sure as to what this hose is and was wondering if anyone can tell me what it is and if it can be replaced without removing or replacing too many parts. Thank you in advance!

P.S. It's a 2001 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro

Is this what you are pointing to?

Easy to change, you can cut off the OEM clamps and use regular gear type clamps if you like.

You might be pointing at your suction pump I'm not sure from the picture. Mine didconected and was causing the car to die at idle and have trouble starting. I just taped it back together for now and it works fine.

Yea, that looks like the right part ... it's connected to an elbow (the horizontal arrow on the right is pointing to it, but it's hard to see on the pic) ... would that need to be replaced as well?

p.s. thanks alot!

You know, now that I think about it, that particular check valve might be the one with three ports, vice two. Here is a good write up showing where all the valves are and what type they are (including part numbers). Only need to replace the elbow or any other vacuum hose if there is a crack / tear / puncture. But that does happen a lot, and sometimes hard to discover. If you are concerned, you can build a leak detector and see what you come up with.
