what Pump

Default what Pump

What pump connects to the Viscous fan? need to replace it but dont know which pump it is mechanic says P/s pump autozone says water pump?

Its really actually neither, its on its own pulley that is on the bracket that both the waterpump and power steering pump bolt up to.

Red is waterpump, yellow is power steering, blue is the one you are talking about.
EDIT: you mean what belt? then its power steering, so serpentine belt

ok so they are both incorrect. thanks i am trying to replace the pulley. it is cause some squeaking. so you know where i coukd get a replacement pulley.

what is located right behind the fan clutch pulley?

It probably isn't your pulley, but instead your belt.. does it happen when you turn your heater on?

A4Nick is right. Its more likely the belt or the tensioner. How did you figure it was that pulley making noise if you didnt know where it was exactly? Anyway, heres a link to the fanclutch's and pulleys for them. http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B5_A4-...ch/Fan_Clutch/

The belts are new replaces last month the noise would start under hard acceleration or around 3k rpm .so we opened the hood checked all the belts and were good the were also tight but we noticed that the fan pulley would move a little when the car got to 3k rpms. So we narrowed down to the pulley being out
