Try staying in fourth gear instead of 5th while cruising at 60-70mph. Your RPMs will range from 3-4k if I remember correctly and you should get better gas mileage. I get worse gas mileage at 60-70 while in 5th gear. I'm usually driving 70-80mph still in 4th gear. Around 80mph is when I might go into 5th.

I get 350-375 miles per tank when driving normally, if I baby it, I can get 400+ miles a tank easy.

edit: meant to quote you.

OK so its whereitshould be from what you all say it just seems a little high to me I was hoping it was something I could fix to get better mpg's

I am going to have to agree with you there. I see no logic in that statement.

Yeah, that's funky...
On a N/A car though, I've heard that your best gas milage comes at the point where your motor's pulling the most vacuum. I've only heard this statement spoken by one person before (Jeep guru, when I was doing the Jeep thing. You wouldn't understand.), but they were very knowledgable. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

In all honesty, it doesn't make much sense to me either, but my mpg is better going 60 in 4th gear (off the top of my head around 3k rpms), than going 60 in 5th. I'm about to go for a drive in a little bit, I'm hoping to confirm this.. otherwise maybe I'm losing my mind. I drive a 35 miles to go to and from class on the highway and everytime that I can recall, my mpg was definitely better in 4th. This isn't just the reading I get on my dash, but also calculating it from how much gas i've got left to how many miles between fill ups.

I Keep mine at around 3-4k doing about 60-80 average and get about 205 miles to the tank... sucks i know.

always in tip cause throttle response sucks badly when in plain Drive.

Anyone have any comments on the vacuum thing? I know it doesn't apply to turbo motors, but for the (not me) V6 peeps?
