hey everyone so im in a little pickel. so a few months ago i bought an 1998 a4 2.8with an s4 bumper and bilstien coils and those were the only mods done to it. as much as i do love my car i am now thinking that i should have gotten a 1.8t and what do you know i have found one on good ol craigslist. its the same color and already is modded some of which i like other things not so much you can see in the link below. so the cost for the 1.8t is 10,500 and i bought mine for 8,500. i have been thinking about selling my car in order to buy a 1.8 and this seems like a good oppurunity, but before i do anything rash i figured i would ask the experts hahaha. thanks alot everyone and everything you guys say will help

if you get it get ride of that exhaust, but I'm kinda thinking the same thing of selling my v6 for a 1.8t


but in exelent condition 98's should only be around 8-9. with mods, because they don't count towards the value of the car

 

if your happy with everything thats done to your car now then keep it. if you want more mods like most ppl on here do, i would go for the 1.8T. im learning theres endless things to do to the 1.8

I looks good (minus the exhaust, and not having a hood strut) but it's hard to tell how it's been driven. Always take it to acouple of qualified mechanics before you buy anything.

I would go for it. There is soooooooo many things you can do to a 1.8

 

i like the car but i don't like the price. i really wouldn't pay that much for it especially if you just want a car. as tempting as that car is, my money is more important lol. i'd see if he's willing to talk. if you want to get rid of that stuff you would have to buy the factory ones to put in again or whatever you want to put in so it'd basically balance out. if he's wiling to let it go fot 8500, i'd be perfect though

 

They're right, mods don't add blue book value. He can talk it up all he wants, but I would still talk him down much closer to blue book.

well first off, its pretty unlikely that you will have your car sold before he sells his, so how do you plan on buying that one without money? second, i never like buying modded cars just because i know it has been driven harder than normal more times than not. Also, mods on audis make the value go down not up.
