What would you do - struts/ shocks decision?
Hey everyone, well the time has come to finally get all 4 shocks/ struts replaced on my B5.5. I will also be switching out the stock A4 2.8L springs to HR lowering springs. Anyway, I have a choice between getting all 4 used S4 shocks and S4 springs with about 85K on them and selling the S4 springs to make up some money back for real cheap, about $160 dollars (the kit would be $100 but the seller says it's $62.78 UPS Ground to my house) or I can bite the bullet and get some real shocks like the Bilstein kit sold on ECS Tuning here. What would you do?

I forgot to add a 3rd option: Neither 1 or 2 but instead get a set of Koni's or KYB's.

What's the main purpose of lowering? To look good or for better handling?

Hey kriptonik, I'm looking for a balance of both actually. I can't stand that huge gap in my wheel well and since all 4 shocks on my car at completely shot, I figured I might as well buy a sports suspension to stiffen the ride up, get better handling (I bought S4 front and rear sway bars) and get a nice semi-aggresive stance on my ride.

If you want to eliminate wheel gap, the S4 suspension wouldn't do a good job with that.
