Question whats the A4's stock boost psi?

i have a stock 98 A4 1.8t (AEB). i just instld a boost gage and it only reads up to 4psi max whn i step on it.
is that normal or is it in some limp mode?
i've already check for leaks and i have none and i have no codes.

thnks for the feedback !

did you use vagcom to scan for codes or what? because I believe limp mode will throw a code somewhere

unconnecting battery for ~5 mins may reset limp mode

i used an OBDII scan/erase to scan for any codes. at idle its at 20-21 In Hg. at speed its at 0. when i step on it, the gauge reads 3.5-4 psi at most.

the boost gauge is a VDO (30 In Hg - 25 psi) from apr

sounds like you are either in limp mode or you have a boost leak...

Stock boost should max out near 8psi, chips will max out near 20psi, anything over that is going to be risky for the ko3

sounds to me like a boost leak
