In my Dodge Ram I used to do close to 500 miles on a tank. And I had a 100 gallon reserve in the bed. I could drive clear from NY to FL! Haha

Is that what you mean?
yeaah. for the 98, is it possible to get the MPG without doing all that?

I don't think so. I have a 99.5 and I have to do it the old fashioned way.

As for me, usually I get 300 miles per 15 gallons. So about 20MPG all City, no highway. I live less than a mile from work and I have school about 2 days a week (20+ miles round trip). I use my car when me and my wife go out shopping or to hang out. She has an '02 jeep liberty that sucks (literally) on gas so we take my car.

I'm sure I could do better, but I like to have a little fun with my car. I don't speed though really.. I'm almost done with Paramedic school and I'm looking to get hired as a FireMedic soon (hopefully) and I need to keep my driving record relatively clean. I have 3 points (1st and only speeding ticket almost 3 years ago) and the most you can usually have is 5 in order to get hired at the Fire depts around here.

Funny thing is, I used to have an SRT-4 when I was younger, drove ridiculously fast on the turnpike, I95, and other highways, Raced anyone interested, did all sorts of stupid things and never got a ticket. Within the first 3 months of having my Slow 2.8 A4 I get pulled over for going 80 in a 65 (usually a 70 zone). Damn State troopers!

My best was 486 miles, tab out of gas as I pulled up to the pump to gas up. Mixed 60/40 highway/town driving. Almost pooped myself when I checked my trip meter.

It sounds like we're getting about the same mileage. I'm surprised how so many others are getting a lot less.
